Hundreds of representatives of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) will meet in Turkey on Sunday, the organization said Friday.

The IFRC general assembly will address humanitarian crises in Myanmar, Somalia, Iraq and Syria during the seven-day summit, according to a statement.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu are expected to address the summit in Antalya.

The assembly will select a new IFRC president as well as vice presidents and board members for the next four years.

Kerem Kınık, president of the Turkish Red Crescent, is a vice president candidate for the Europe region.

Around 1,500 guests from Turkish and international aid organizations will attend the conference.
