Schools in Turkey's capital city, Ankara, are closed on Thursday due to extreme cold weather, the Ankara governorate announced.It also stated that disabled and pregnant public servants were given a day off due to weather conditions.Meanwhile, all schools were closed in the provinces of Eskişehir, Uşak and Manisa for one day because of strong winds and snow.Education interrupted due to the snow in Yenice district of Çanakkale, Altıeylül, Karesi, Balya, Savaştepe and Dursunbey districts of Balıkesir, Bergama and Kınık districts of Izmir, Demirci district of Manisa.Many roads across the country have also been closed. Road crews were deployed on main roads across the cities to keep them clear of snow and ice.
