Polat Kemboi Arikan became the first Turkish athlete to take the podium in cross after coming second in 72nd 'Cross Internacional Juan Muguerza' race on Sunday.
In male category Eritrean Teklemariam Medhin won the race held in Spanish city Elgoibar with a degree of 33 minutes and two seconds, while Polat Kemboi Arikan -- finishing the race two seconds after winner Medhin -- has won silver medal. Joshua Cheptegei from Uganda completed the race in third place.
In women's category, Bahraini athlete Mimi Belete came out on top with a 22 minute and nine second degree. Kenyan Emily Chebet became runner-up and her fellow citizen Mercy Cherono ended the competition in third place.
