As blood, tears and destruction in Syria are ongoing, increasing by the day, Syrian Islamic Council (SIC) President SheikOsama Al-Rifai says Russia started massacres in Syria after getting approval from the Russian Orthodox Church. As for Iran, it has been open about fighting a sectarian war from the first day it entered Syria. It has been five years and the tragedy continues in Syria. It doesn't seem like it will end any time soon, either. While comments are being made that the war in the region has become tougher with the interventions of Iran, Hezbollah and lastly Russia, Syrian Islamic Council President Sheikh Osama Al-Rifai spoke on the complicated picture in Syria. Al Rifai, who has made some analyses for yenisafak.com in Istanbul, where he has been living for a while, is hopeful that the revolution which started five years ago will happen: “They will certainly not give up on their cause for freedom, even if this war lasts decades. Even if the bloodshed continues, these people want nothing else but freedom." Stating that Iran and Russia are fighting a religious and sectarian war to protect Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who has lost control, he underlined that this situation has made the picture in the country a lot clearer and said, “Those supporting the Assad regime in Syria, Iran, Hezbollah along with some militia, have been extremely loyal to his demands and have fulfilled their promise of loyalty to the regime. Iran announced from the very beginning its support for the regime and did everything in its power for this. At the point Iran's power ended, Hezbollah stepped in and at the point Hezbollah could no longer suffice, Russia stepped in." Al Rifai's thoughts on the terror organizations in Syria are very clear: “I only want to mention the terror with which the international community is in cooperation. Daesh, the PKK [Kurdistan Workers' Party] and the PYD [Democratic Union Party] are all one and the same, they are all terror organizations. They feed on the international community. This is why they exist."
