An armed policeman in Egypt
At least 52 policemen were killed and six more wounded in a gun battle on Friday in clashes with “outlawed” gunmen in Egypt's Giza province, a government newspaper said.
Sources had said late on Friday at least 30 police were killed.
After the clashes, Egyptian security closed the entrances to the area of the oases.
Egypt's Interior Ministry was unavailable for comment on the clashes.
