Bulgarian-made weapons in ammunition stores left by the opposition in Aleppo have been purportedly found in Syria, while Bulgarian Foreign Minister strongly denied allegations at a news conference, emphasizing Russia is not an enemy of theirs.

'Russia is not our enemy'

Remarking on the issue, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said, “We have never exported weapons to Syria since 2011 and Russia is not our enemy."

Foreign Ministry of Bulgaria does not have any obligation to probe into the very existence of the guns, he added.

Bulgarian journalist Dilyana Gaytancieva, the eyewitness of the incident claimed that she saw the label of the “Arkus" company based in the Gorna Ortahovitza city of central Bulgaria, on their packages.

Denying the claims, officials from Arkus stated on Bulgarian National Radio that they will enlighten them about the matter in a detailed way in early 2017.
