The US-led coalition forces' operation in the Syrian province of Raqqa, a stronghold of Daesh terrorists, has triggered a fresh wave of migration as thousands of people left their houses for relatively safer Bab, Manbij, Jarabulus and Çobanbey region in northern Aleppo, and many others are on their way to Deir ez-Zor.

People who are trying to reach northern Aleppo are facing Daesh, which does not let people take their belongings with them. It is not certain that Daesh will let people cross the moderate opposition-held regions, according to the local sources.

The same sources indicated that 4,000 people have already arrived in Halfetli village of Azaz town of Aleppo as the number is expected to rise.

Syrian Democratic Forces, including the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) -affiliated People's Protection Units (YPG), supported by the United States (US), Ahrar Raqqa and Liwa Thuwar al-Raqqa brigades are part of the operation against Daesh.

The operation is aiming at ridding Raqqa, the de facto headquarters of Daesh in Syria, of terrorists.

As many as 470,000 people have been killed since the beginning of the five-year-long civil war in Syria. The same figures show that 6.5 million Syrians were evacuated to the safe zone, while 5 million were forced to emigrate.
