Spokesman for the Arab Coalition, formed for the Yemen operation, Brigadier General Ahmed Assiri announced that Saudi Arabia would like to take part in the Raqqa operation, the U.S.-led international coalition campaign to rid Raqqa of the Daesh terrorist organization, which has grown deep roots in the Syrian city, known as their capital.

Arab coalition Spokesman Assiri said that Saudi Arabia was ready to join the Raqqa operation.

While Saudi Arabia, Syria and Iraq are actively supporting the international coalition formed to combat DEAS, it is not clear how the Arab Coalition forces' demand to participate in the Raqqa operation will be met.

According to the statement made recently by U.S. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter, the Raqqa operation could start within a few weeks.
