Another dominant operation fighting group in Syria, Ahrar Al-Sham, announced on Tuesday that it would join to Turkish military-backed anti-Daesh operation in northern Syria.

Operation Euphrates Shield, which was launched on Aug. 24, aims to improve security, support coalition forces and eliminate the terror threat along Turkey's south border, using the FSA fighters backed by Turkish armor, artillery and jets.

Since then, Turkey-backed FSA fighters took control of all border towns and villages in the Azaz-Jarabulus stretch in northern Syria from Daesh.

According to Turkish military, a 900-square-kilometer area has been cleaned from the terror group and the military backed FSA are now heading to al-Bab, one of the most strategic cities being held by Daesh in northern Syria.

The group said in an official statement that it decided to join the operation Euphrates Shield to fight the Daesh terror group as well as YPG/PKK terrorists.

“So Ahrar al-Sham and other factions can go ahead and cooperate with Turkey," the statement read.

The group is the largest opposition group defending Syrian people since the civil war began 2011.

Aharar al Sham decided to join the Turkey-backed operation 28 days after the military enters Syria to assist moderate opposition Free Syrian Army fighting against Deaesh.

It highlighted that a joint offensive against Daesh and PYD/PKK is crucial.
