The West deserts Barzani after illegitimate KRG referendum

The U.S. and the EU deserted the KRG President Barzani with his “independent state” dreams at every turn, whom they used to design the Middle East

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Masoud Barzani ignoring Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s warnings, has once again been deserted by the Western states which he relied on when holding an illegitimate independence referendum. In his most recent betrayal to Turkey, which had supported him in his time of need, Barzani allowed the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorists to enter Kirkuk.

Although he wasted no time in appealing to Ankara when in conflict with the Baghdad government and sought for Turkey’s cooperation to be able to pay his civil servants, Barzani tried to gain Russia’s support after the U.S. and UK failed to openly back him.

The CIA and Mossad-backed “puppet state” project was destroyed thanks to the determined attitude of Turkey, Iraq and Iran. Western states kept silent on the Iraqi army’s occupation of Kirkuk and Sinjar. They only made statements “hoping that there will be no clashes,” aware of the fact that they cannot take Turkey on in the region.

Iraqi government forces on Monday captured the oil city of Kirkuk, reciprocating to an independence referendum held by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) last month.

Hypocritical support

European countries could not blatantly declare support during the referendum period as well. However, the Pro-PKK European observers who regarded the Turkish referendum held on Apr. 16, finding the civilian constitution as “anti-democratic,” followed Barzani’s illegal referendum in northern Iraq on Sept. 25.

Among the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) observers who are known for their pro-PKK attitude is former French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner. He earlier claimed that a “democratic state has been laid on this referendum,” and said he wanted to be a citizen of a so-called “Kurdistan” when the state is established.

Former President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz, known for his anti-Turkey sentiments in Germany, also covertly supported the illegitimate referendum, stating that “the referendum [is] the just right of the Kurds in Iraq.”

Barzani failed every time

Masoud Barzani’s father Molla Barzani established a relationship with the Soviet Union in 1960s but the states failed him as he was no longer useful to them. He once again contacted the CIA, Mossad and Savak in the mid-1970s, being abandoned once again by those whom he relied on. Northern Iraqi Kurds and Talabani and Barzani families, considered as a useful tool by Europe, the U.S. and Israel, betrayed the Muslim countries around them at their expense of being a puppet of Europe, and ended up needing the Muslim countries at every turn.
