The charge d'affaires of the Netherlands was summoned to the Foreign Ministry for the third time on Monday and remanded over the treatment of Turkish ministers and citizens in the Netherlands.

Turkey warned the Netherlands in a diplomatic note that said the treatment of Turkish ministers and officials was a breach of the Vienna Convention.

Turkish officials also warned that the police intervention against peaceful protestors was disproportionate and demanded information about wounded Turkish citizens.

Ministry sources have revealed that Turkey is pushing for legal action against police misconduct.

On Saturday, the Dutch government first canceled the Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu's flight permit to the Netherlands and then blocked a convoy carrying Family and Social Policies Minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya from entering the Turkish Consulate in Rotterdam.

Protests erupted outside the consulate in Rotterdam, where Dutch police used dogs and batons to disperse the peaceful crowd that gathered in support of Sayan Kaya. She was later forced to leave the consulate area under police escort.
