Turkish military and coalition forces killed at least 40 Daesh terrorists in fresh operations against the group in northern Syria following Daesh's cross-border rocket attack on the southeastern Turkish city of Gaziantep.

Turkish military sources said Sunday that their artillery killed terrorists who were on the verge of firing rockets into the Turkish city yesterday.

Meanwhile, U.S.-led coalition fighter jets have launched three air operations targeting Daesh positions.

The operations conducted to retaliate Daesh's cross-border rocket attack on Gaziantep, that landed on an open field and damaged some apartment windows in the area.

During the operations, four defensive positions and four Katyusha positions, four vehicles, two armored personnel carriers and two weapon depots belonging to Daesh were destroyed.

Since mid-January, Daesh rockets have been targeting towns and cities in southern Turkey, close to the Syrian frontier. A total of 21 people, including Syrians sheltering in Turkey, have been killed, with more than 70 others wounded.
