Friday marks the 128th day of the Euphrates Shield operation. The joint operation between the Turkish military and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) has targeted Daesh with their artillery on land and also by airstrikes on Al-Bab, Syria.

The operation in Al-Bab has resulted in significant advances in Akil mountain and the hospital region, both critical points of the city.

Established under the leadership of the U.S. in 2014, 68 member countries formed the Global Coalition Against Daesh. Despite pledges of support to defeat Daesh, the member countries did not take action. Turkey launched the Euphrates Shield operation with the Free Syrian Army on August 24 to clear Syria of terrorist groups and ensure Turkey's border security.

The operation continues

Turkish forces have reclaimed a hospital that Daesh had occupied in the Rasheel Jabal region. The area was cleared of motion sensors, explosives and weapons.

Efforts of the Turkish army to take control of the region are still underway, despite unfavorable weather conditions.

All offenses are carried out by the Turkish military, and the FSA only provides support.

While there is a lack of progress by the coalition-led operations in Mosul, the Turkish-led Euphrates Shield operation is earning global recognition.

Daesh abandons their defense posts

The Euphrates Shield operation has caused massive losses for Daesh. Defense posts abandoned by Daesh terrorists have been cleared and taken under control by the Turkish military.

The fall of Daesh-occupied Al-Bab is expected soon, as the Turkish military and the FSA continue to make significant advances.

Military shipments on the move

A Turkish military shipment has been conveyed to Syria's border. The delivery included 30 various tanks, which were deployed via train from Turkey's Northwestern city of Izmit, and arrived in Gaziantep, close to Syria's border.

Soldiers will also be sent to the border.

Other vehicles also traveled to Gaziantep, and will continue to travel to the Syrian border.
