As Operation Euphrates Shield continues in north Syria's al-Bab, a Turkish soldier was martyred in the operation, the Turkish military stated on Sunday.

The written statement by the Turkish General Staff further added that two soldiers were also wounded in the clashes between Turkish troops and the Daesh terrorist organization.

The Turkish military is supporting Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters in liberating al-Bab, a strategic city for Daesh, from the terrorist group.

Operation Euphrates Shield began in late August 2016, to tighten border security, eliminate the terror threat along the Turkish border and support opposition forces in Syria.
