The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has resorted to lies and slander as part of the row with Qatar. The UAE has become anxious of Turkey’s support of Qatar throughout the diplomatic rift.
In a news story on Dubai TV, the UAE’s discomfort regarding Turkish troops in Qatar turned into a scandalous campaign.
The shocking article said: “Turkish soldiers have imposed a curfew.”
“Some sources say that Turkish soldiers have shut off some roads in Doha and are not allowing people to pass,” the outrageous news story continued.
The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Bahrain cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, accusing Doha of supporting, inciting and funding terrorism in Arab countries. Qatar denies the charges.
Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen, Libya and the UAE imposed a sea, land and air blockade on Qatar and presented a list of demands.
Since the Gulf crisis began, Turkey, a longtime ally of Qatar, has rushed to Doha’s aid, dispatching vast amounts of humanitarian assistance, in addition to troops, to the Gulf state.
