The National Unity Party (UBP) and Republican Turkish Party (CTP) coalition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has come to an end after UBP declared its decision to withdraw from the government.
UBP, in a statement, told that the party took the decision due to the uselessness of the government in the actual situation.
UBP leader Hüseyin Özgürgün said that five of the total 10 ministers will submit their resignations on Monday.
Özgürgün said the impasse in the state budget, the country's ongoing water crisis, the farmers' difficulties and the salary crisis are among the factors behind the party's decision.
Meanwhile, the coalition partner CTP's Leader and Prime Minister Ömer Kalyoncu said that the separation is based on 'DNA differences' between the two parties.
"With this kind of perception, the partnership couldn't last longer than this," he added.
In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) has 20 deputies, the National Unity Party (UBP) has 18 deputies, the DP-UG has five, the Communal Democracy Party (TDP) has three deputies and there are four independents.
