The Istanbul Anti-Drug Control Division seized 1 ton of cannabis in Istanbul's Pendik district on Tuesday evening.
Seven suspects with suspected links to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were taken into custody.
The drugs have a market value of TL 15 million ($4.12 million). Security forces suspect that the profit obtained from the sale of the drugs would go to the PKK.
Security forces investigated and tracked a truck carrying cannabis from Diyarbakır to Istanbul. The truck was stopped in Pendik and searched with drug-detecting dogs.
