One of the leaders planning attacks of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist organization was killed by security forces, during an counter-attack in the southeastern town of Nusaybin, Mardin.

Zamani Çamak was shot dead by security forces during the anti-terror raids in Nusaybin. Çamak, code-named Hebatkar-Karker, was known as PKK leader, controlling the terrorist organisation's attacks in the region.

He had been put on Interior Ministry's list of most-wanted terrorists.

Authorities said Çamak was killed in exchange of fire with the military. The slain terrorist was later found dead along with some weapons including five Kalashnikovs, one rifle, two RPG-7 rocket launchers and one pair of binoculars.

Çamak was born in Karlıova town in 1977 and voluntarily joined the PKK /KCK terrorist group in 1997.

He is the second most-wanted terrorist, killed in Nusaybin in a week. Earlier in May, the military neutralized another senior PKK terrorist, Veysi Akgün, code-named Kava, on May 23.
