The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) has said that as many as six Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists were killed in the southeastern Turkish province of Hakkari, while another was captured in Kızıltepe town of Mardin province in the same Turkish region.

In Hakkari, terrorists were killed after being detected by Turkish units during a reconnaissance and surveillance mission.

Turkish forces have been conducting for over two weeks an operation both by air and land in southeastern Turkey and northern Iraq's Qandil region, known as the main base for the PKK.

During Turkey's fight against PKK since July of 2015, more than 7,000 PKK terrorists were killed.

The U.S., EU and Turkey recognize the PKK as a terrorist organization.
