Turkish army personnel in Bashiqa military camp near Mosul city in northern Iraq attacked on Thursday night, according to military sources; 17 Daesh terrorists killed.
It was reported that the Turkish military beat back the attackers in an immediate response and there have been no reported injuries or casualties of Turkish soldiers.
Ankara deployed a battalion military in early December to Bashiqa camp near Daesh-held Mosul city. The battalion was intended to replace its contingent there in training the National Guard forces in Mosul for a battle to retake Mosul from the terrorist group, who seized the city in 2014.
In mid-December Daesh fired mortar shells into the camp, injuring four Turkish soldiers.
