Mehmet Demir was martyred during the crossfire with putschist traitors at the Gölbaşı Special Operations Department Headquarters on July 15th where he worked as a technical personnel helicopter technician. His body was taken to Gaziantep where he had visited one week before. 32 years old, he had been married for 4 years and was buried in the Gaziantep Yeşilkent Martyrs’ Cemetery.
The name Martyr Mehmet Demir was given to an Anatolian imam hatip high school in Gaziantep.
