National Intelligence Organization Undersecretary Hakan Fidan said operations against the coup plotters would be completed inside one hour. Speaking to Habertürk, Fidan said, “Systemic operations have ended. The next step is detentions through pinpoint [judicial] operations. The operations on the Akıncı Air Base and Army Aviation will end inside of an hour.”
French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said they strongly condemned the coup attempt in Turkey, adding that the Turkish people showed maturity and courage, “I hope that the democracy of the country will emerge stronger from this test and that the fundamental freedoms will be fully respected.”
