The General Assembly of the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors urgently convened to address the “parallel structure” members and decided to unseat five members of the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors in accordance with the Ankara Public Prosecutor’s detention warrant. The 2nd Chamber of the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors sidelined a total of 2,745 judges, with 541 of them being in the first instance administrative justice and 2,204 of them being in the first instance judicial justice.
Some of the detained members of the of the Council of State were brought to the Ankara Police Department. Coup plotters were made to wait at the gymnasium of the Ankara Police Department’s Anti-Terrorism Branch Directorate. Some of the tanks used in the coup attempt were pulled to the garden of the Police Department.
11th President Abdullah Gül went to the State Guest House at the Istanbul Atatürk Airport and met with President Erdoğan. Following the meeting, Gül said, “Those who exposed Turkey to such a disgrace will never be forgotten.”
