The U.S. Embassy in Turkey announced that flights from the İncirlik Air Base were completely halted and that electricity had been cut off at the air base.
Turkey announced that the airspace in the area had been closed. The U.S. Air Forces, which use the İncirlik Air Base near Adana, obeyed Turkey's decision on the closure of the air base.
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey convened on an extraordinary agenda. Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım came to the Parliament respectively. Deputies kept a minute of silence for martyrs and read the national anthem during the meeting which was chaired by Parliamentary Speaker İsmail Kahraman. Later, Karaman read out the remaining eight stanzas of the national anthem, which was strongly applauded by all the deputies at Parliament. Kahraman delivered a speech in which he emphasized unity and solidarity.
The presidents of the Constitutional Court, Court of Cassation and Council of State watched the extraordinary session in which Chief of General Staff General Hulusi Akar also participated.
