Special Operations Police Officer Fevzi Başaran was injured after the bombing attack on the Gölbaşı Special Operations Department Headquarters on July 15th. He was going to get married on August 13th. He died a martyr’s death on July 18th after talking to his brother for the last time.

Fevzi was called to work after the events at the Gölbaşı Special Operations Department Headquarters on the night of July 15th. He was injured by a bomb dropped by FETÖ members and he was taken to the Gölbaşı State Hospital. He saw his family in the hospital for the last time and was conscious. He told his family that he was not afraid, he had faith, and that they needed to stay strong. He was transferred to Atatürk Education and Research Hospital as he was in critical condition. He was martyred on July 18th.

Fevzi preparing for his wedding on August 13th. He was a Special Operations Police Officer and he wanted to be a martyr his whole life. His brother Latif, stated that Fevzi wanted to be a Special Operations Police Officer so that he could be an enemy to the cruel and a friend to the oppressed.

Fevzi was buried in the Karşıyaka Cemetery after the funeral that was held in the Kocatepe Mosque.

The name Martyr Fevzi Başaran was given to an imam hatip high school in İnegöl, Bursa.
