He heard news of the special operations headquarters being bombed as he was tucking his kids in to bed. He left his house with the intention of helping his police friends and instead, he never came back.

“We always missed each other”
Dilek stated that they heard about the bombing on the headquarters after they tucked their kids in to bed, “My husband rushed to the headquarters without saying goodbye. I tried to catch up but I couldn’t. She described her husband as a helpful, hardworking, and sharing person who loved his family. She stated that her husband was the person people called when they needed something. They met when they were studying in the Ankara University Faculty of Theology years ago. “We got engaged after we graduated. We both started working. We had a wedding one year later but we weren’t able to live together until 2 years later. We always missed each other.”
Working as an imam for police officers and performing their funeral prayers, Yaman used to tell his colleagues, “I wish I could die a martyr like you, in Mardin or Nusaybin.”
