Not a day goes by where Greek media doesn’t feature a piece about Turkish-made drones as Athens frantically searches for ways to counter the globally lauded UCAVs produced by its neighbor.

This time, it was Greek daily To Vima, in an article published on Feb. 7, claiming Athens’ Defense Minister Nikos Panayiotopulos focused on "anti-drone technology" products manufactured by Israel during his Jan. 20 visit to the Middle Eastern country.

According to the report, the official stated that Turkey has established superiority over Greece thanks to its drones and unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs), noting that authorities are seeking a solution.

The report went on to point out that the Greek government is currently prioritizing the acquisition of high-tech devices to repel Turkish UAVs and UCAVs, rather than purchasing drones.

An article by Greek newspaper Kathimerini, cited by Hürriyet, also stressed that Turkish-made UAVs and armed drones pose a threat to Greece.

Turkey’s combat drones have reportedly destroyed the Russian-made Pantsir missile systems in Syria, Libya, and Nagorno-Karabakh, as Ankara’s deployment of UAVs was credited for the victories clinched by Turkey’s allies from Asia to Africa.
