CHP Genel Başkanı Deniz Baykal, Avrupa Parlamentosu'nun sözde Ermeni soykırımının tanınması yolundaki taleplerinin tuzak talepler olduğunu söyledi. İngiltere'deki temaslarını sürdüren CHP lideri, Avrupa Parlamentosu'nun kararının üzüntü verici olduğunu ancak kendisini şaşırtmadığını bildirdi. Bu tür tuzak taleplerin önümüzdeki dönemde de Türkiye'nin önüne getirileceğini belirten Deniz Baykal, ''Bizden birçok koşul istenmesine rağmen Türkiye'nin üyeliğini garanti edecek hiçbir koşul görünmüyor. Maalesef Avrupa Birliği Türkiye'nin üyeliği konusunu yokuşa sürerek değerlendiriyor'' dedi. Gelinen noktada Türkiye'nin şimdiye kadar izlenen politikadan dolayı ve ilişkilerden dolayı zor durumda kaldığı da belirten CHP lideri, hükümeti bu konularda uyardıklarını belirterek, ''Ama onlar kervan yolda düzelir anlayışı güdüyor. Bu büyük bir hatadır''diye konuştu.
