Başbakan Vekili Devlet Bakanı ve Başbakan Yardımcısı Mehmet Ali Şahin, terör örgütü elebaşı Abdullah Öcalan'ın, İmrali Cezaevi'nden cep telefonuyla görüşme yaptığı iddialarını "palavra" olarak değerlendirdi. Şahin, Gelibolu Mevlevihanesi'nin açılış töreninin ardından Ankara'ya dönüşünde Marmara Adası'nda terör örgütü elebaşı Öcalan'ın İmrali Cezaevi'nden cep telefonuyla görüşme yaptığı iddialarının "palavra" olduğunu söyledi ve "Öyle bir şey olmaz" dedi. Bakan Şahin, şu sıralar Öcalan'ın sadece birinci derece yakınlarıyla görüşmesine izin verildiğini, söyledi.
'Bartholomeos'un Papa'yı Türkiye'ye daveti uygunsuz'
Gelibolu Mevlevihanesi'nin açılış törenlerine giderken gazetecilerin Cumhurbaşkanı Sezer'in Papa'yı Türkiye'ye davetine ilişkin sorularını cevaplayan Şahin, Sezer'in, Papa'yı Türkiye'ye davet etmesinin "kendi takdiri" olduğunu ifade etti. Şahin, Bartholomeos'un, Papa'yı Ortodoks Kilisesi'nin 30 Kasım'da kutladığı Aziz Andreas Yortusu'na davet etmesini "uygun bulmadıklarını" bildirdi.
