İran’ın güneyinde, merkez üssü Fars Körfezi’nde bulunan Kişm adasında meydana gelen 5.9 büyüklüğündeki depremde 6 köy ağır hasar görürürken 10 kişinin öldüğü, 50’nin üzerinde de yaralı olduğu belirtildi.

Depremde, tarihi bir cami ve adanın eski pazarı ve bazı yerleşim bölgelerinin de tahrip olduğu bildirildi.
Kişm’in bağlı olduğu Hürmüz’ün Valisi Haydar Alişavandi, yerel saatle 13.53’te (TSİ 12.23) meydana gelen, 10-15 saniye süren depremde 10 kişinin öldüğünü, 50 kişinin yaralandığını açıkladı.
İran Deprem Araştırmalar Merkezi başkanı konuyla ilgili yaptığı açıklamada, bölgede 4.7, 4.5 ve 4 şiddetinde 3 büyük artçı sarsıntı meydana geldiğini söyledi. Hürmüzgan eyaleti doğal afetler kurum yetkililerinin özellikle depremin merkezi Kişm adasına gittiği belirtilirken, kesin olmamakla birlikte adanın tarihi bazı yerlerinin hasar gördüğü iddia edildi. Özellikle adanın doğu bölgelerindeki yerleşim bölgelerinin ciddi enkazla karşı karşıya olduğu kaydedildi. Deprem nedeniyle Kişm adası ile anakara arasındaki telefon bağlantısının koptuğu, bazı evlerde hasar bulunduğu belirtildi. Komşu ülkelerde de hissedilen deprem nedeniyle Umman ve Dubai’deki ikiz kuleler ile kamu binaları dahil binadaki insanlar tahliye edildi, halk sokaklara çıktı.
